This is a unique opportunity to purchase a rare ARRI ultrascope X2 Anamorphic 85mm lens. Bought his lens from a private collection about 15 years ago and it was hardly used ever since. I dare to say it is probably the cleanest 85mm ultrascope lens worldwide. There is hardly signs of use in & outside of the lens and it looks as if it has never been opened or serviced in the last 60 years . The original cardboard & felt lenscap is still with it as well as the custom lens hood (mattebox) Focus moves smooth and so does iris .The iris blades are clean and look like new,no oil nowhere. There is no trace of fungi or separation of elements . The Arri Std to PL adapter was machined to clear the mounts on today’s Arri’s, reds,Sony ‘s etc and is easily removed to retrofit it to an ARRI IIC or similar. The lens shows hardly any traces of use. The leather on the inside of the hood that serves as a mating surface with the lens barrel is still pristine. If it were a car ,I would call this an exotic barn find with 700 miles on the odometer . For those who know there is no need to explain what this lens does with APS-C or LF Sensors in today’s modern cameras . There is plenty of fresh footage by this lens online and history to be found tracing it back to the designs of Jan Jacobsen. The Norwegian designer developed these lenses for ARRI (Arnold & Richter) in the 50 ‘s. The lens comes in a custom travel case. On my lens-projector it gives a clean, sharp,flat and well balanced image left to right.There is almost no dust particles inside visible in the beam of the lantern.Collimation and focus marks read spot on on .
